Christine Jane Sills

Christine Jane (Sprouse) Stearley Sills, 67, of Brazil, passed away while living at Meadows Manor East, Terre Haute, Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017 at 7:40 p.m.

She was born Nov. 2, 1949, in Clay County, the daughter of Leslie Lee and Imogene (Fisher) Sprouse.

Christine graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1968. She later graduated from Ivy Tech in 1981 with a degree as a medical transcriptionist.

Christine worked for Dr. Andres and Dr. Orman. She also worked at MedQuest, Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Union Hospital, Clay County Hospital, and most recently Putnam County Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Imogene Sprouse; a daughter, Melinda "Mindee" Stearley; and a brother-in-law, Jim Guy.

Christine is survived by her son, Thomas C. Stearley (Cindy Wilson) of Greencastle; grandchildren Courtney Hunt (Jedidiah), Levi Stearley and Victoria Stearley (Jacob Smerage), great-grandchildren Preston, Chloe, Jeptha, Gage, Camden, Jase, Hadley and Ashton; sisters Leslie Neville (Bob), Carla Farrand (Howard) and Becky Guy as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Services will be conducted at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil, at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20 with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
