United Way kicks off 'United We Dine' effort with wine dinner

Almost Home owner Gail Smith and Putnam County United Way Executive Director Joe Buser are ready to toast the United We Dine effort.

The United Way of Putnam County will kick off its "United We Dine" campaign with a wine dinner Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Almost Home, 17 W. Franklin St., Greencastle.

"We are thrilled to be a part of this campaign for the United Way," Gail Smith, owner of Almost Home on the north side of the Greencastle square, said. "We will be partnering with the United Way for one of our popular Signature Wine Dinners, where we will offer a four-course dinner, each paired with a selected wine that will complement each dish."

United Way of Putnam County Executive Director Joe Buser, is excited to launch the 2017 United We Dine effort with the Almost Home event.

"We are thrilled to have Gail on board for our campaign kickoff," Buser said. "A portion of all proceeds will go to the United Way, which benefits our local partner agencies. We will be hosting similar events in many of our local restaurants in Greencastle over the next two months."

To make reservations for the 6:30 p.m. dinner, persons need to call Almost Home at 653-5788.

The United Way of Putnam County supports 13 local service agencies. They include: Putnam County Comprehensive Services, Reading Improvement Center, Mental Health America, Beyond Homeless, Putnam County Youth Development Commission, Putnam County Senior Center, Hope Haven Horse Farm, Putnam County Family Support Services, Johnson Nichols Health Clinic, Summer Enrichment Program, Imagination Library, Transformers and YMCA of Vigo County.
