CRAWFORDSVILLE — DePauw forced overtime and held its first lead seconds later, but Wabash freshman Colten Garland couldn’t miss, scoring 15 of his game-high 37 points in overtime and leading the Little Giants to a 86-80 win over the Tigers.

In overtime, Garland went 4-of-4 from the field, 3-of-3 from beyond the arc and 4-of-4 from the free throw line.

He finished the game 12-of-17 from the floor and tied a Wabash record for 3-pointers made, finishing 9-of-10.

DePauw could not quite counter with their duo of Luke Lattner and Jack VandeMerkt. Lattner scored a team-high 24 points and dished out seven assists, and VandeMerkt followed with 21 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Ethan Jarrett scored 10 points off the bench.

The Tigers (9-7, 5-4 NCAC) never led during regulation, but tied it with an and-one from Lattner at 66-66 with 21 seconds remaining.

Wabash (8-8, 4-5) then committed an offensive foul on their next possession, but DePauw could not end it on Lattner’s half court desperation heave.

DePauw shot 81 percent (17-of-21) from the line, while Wabash shot just 61 percent (17-of-28).DePauw travels to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday.
