GIRLS

Tonight

Cascade (14-4) at Greencastle (12-7)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff for WIC title

So far: The Tiger Cubs have won seven of their last games, with the only loss an overtime defeat at Class 4A Terre Haute South. The Cadets have won their last three games.

History: Cascade won the season opener for both teams 58-32 at Clayton on Nov. 4.

Scouting report: Senior Makayla Collier leads the Cadets in scoring at 14.5, while senior Bayleigh Walker averages 14.3 and junior Hannah Rasnake averages 10.4 points per game. Junior Emelia Bryant averages 7.4 rebounds. Sophomore Claire Gillen leads a balanced Tiger Cub attack with 11 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

Edgewood (13-9) at South Putnam (12-8)

Game time: Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff for seventh place in WIC

So far: The Eagles have won two of their last three games. Edgewood has lost four of its last six games.

History: The Eagles won 31-21 at Edgewood on Nov. 11.

Scouting report: Melea Shockney leads the Mustangs in scoring with 10.1 points per game.

Cloverdale (12-8) at West Vigo (3-13)

Game time: Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff for ninth place in WIC

So far: The Clovers will have their first winning season since 2007-08 this year, and would finish in ninth place in the Western Indiana Conference with a win.

History: The Clovers won at West Vigo 66-35 on Jan. 10.

Scouting report: Tori Combs leads the Clovers with 16.7 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. Sammie Shrum adds 8.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, while Abby Walker averages 10.5 points per game.

Brown County (5-12) at North Putnam (1-16)

Game time: Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff for 11th place in WIC

So far: The Cougars tied their second-highest scoring output of the season on Tuesday with 37 points in a loss at Southmont. Brown County has lost four of its last five games.

History: Brown County has won the last two meetings between the teams, including a 53-39 win at Nashville last year.

Scouting report: Senior Maddy Edds leads the Eagles with 11.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.

Saturday

Western Boone (11-8) at Greencastle

Game time: 6 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: Western Boone had a five-game losing streak earlier in the season, but has won four straight games and six of its last seven.

History: Western Boone has won in each of the past two seasons, including a 49-31 homecourt victory last season. 

Scouting report: Sophomore Madison Jones leads the Stars in scoring with 18.5 points per game, while Olivia Hole adds 12 and Callie Gubera averages 10.3.

BOYS

Tonight

Greencastle  (2-8)  at  South Vermillion  (2-10)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: The Wildcats have lost eight straight games since starting the season 2-2. Greencastle has won two of its last three games since starting 0-7.

History: Greencastle has won three straight games in the series, including a 69-59 win in Clinton last year.

Scouting report: Adam Hedden leads the Wildcats in scoring at 12.0 and rebounding at 6.2.

Saturday

Monrovia (6-7) at South Putnam

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: South Putnam has lost seven straight games against teams with a combined record of 67-32 after starting the season 3-2.

History: Monrovia has won the last 10 meetings between the teams, dating back to 2006, including a 59-47 win at Monrovia last year.

Scouting report: Senior Luke Smith leads the team in scoring at 21.8, while senior Luke Seber adds 11.2. Sophomore Max Newman averages 10.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

Cloverdale at Clay City (6-8)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff

So far: The Clovers had won six straight games going into Thursday’s game with North Putnam. Clay City has won three of its last five games after starting the season 3-6.

History: Cloverdale won 73-55 last year on its homecourt..

Western Boone (2-10) at Greencastle (2-8)

Game time: 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff 

History: The Stars have won the last three meetings in the series, including a 64-48 win in the sectional last year and a 69-67 overtime win at home during the regular season.

So far: The Stars defeated Frankfort 62-54 on Friday and play at Danville tonight. Their other win came 56-55 at Clinton Central.

Scouting report: Senior Marshall Hodgen averages 10.7 points per game to lead the Stars. Colin York paces Greencastle with 17.8 points per game.
