Greening Greencastle House Party set Feb. 9

Hoosier Environmental Council's Greening Greencastle House Party will take place on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the Putnam County Public Library, 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle, hosted by Amanda Shepherd, senior outreach associate of the HEC.

The schedule:

-- 6-6:30 p.m.: Meet and greet, and short video.

-- 6:30-8:30 p.m.: talk by Amanda Shepherd.

Greening Your Community events are taking place throughout the state and feature HEC staff members who present on pressing environmental issues in Indiana, the state legislature and beyond.

Topics will include what HEC does; the bills that are currently going through the statehouse, including SB 309 that threatens the future of rooftop solar in Indiana; the importance of environmental funding in the state budget; and how to get involved as a citizen.
