Drug, gun charges for Greencastle man

A 42-year-old Greencastle man is facing four charges following his arrest Tuesday afternoon, Greencastle City Police officers reported.

Frederick Buttery Jr. was arrested by Capt. Chris Jones as the suspect reportedly walked along Hanna Street. Jones had been dispatched to the area following a harassment complaint and received information about Buttery allegedly being in possession of drugs and a handgun.

Buttery, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, is facing charges of:

-- Possession of methamphetamine.

-- Unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe.

-- Possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

-- Being a convicted felon, carrying a handgun without a license.

During further investigation, in addition to the handgun and drugs, authorities also discovered a knife and a hatchet in Buttery’s backpack.
