Betty Jo Covert

Betty Jo Covert, 67, of Greencastle, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born Nov. 6, 1949 in Lenoir City, Tenn., to Roy and Josephine Boothe. She was a graduate of Greencastle High School, worked in food service at DePauw University and attended the Church of God.

She is survived by he loving husband Jesse Stephen Covert; children Jay Stephen (wife Cinnamon), Christopher Allen (wife Shirley) and Tricia Covert; siblings Roy Boothe, Bobby Boothe, Lesa Smith (husband Joel) and Tommy Armstrong; and grandchildren Miranda, Sydnie, Tyler and Simon Covert.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving aunt and uncle, Avery and Grace Lane, who raised her through her later childhood.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 in Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery.
