Under portable breathalyzer testing, Lozanoski, reportedly registered a .297 percent blood-alcohol content.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to three recent crashes.

• At 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, Billy E. Finney, 75, Fillmore, was on County Road 525 East at the U.S. 40 intersection in a 2012 Buick Enclave.

Finney told Deputy Matt Biggs his view to the east was obstructed by a parked vehicle on the shoulder of U.S. 40. He said he was pulling onto 40 to turn east when he saw a westbound vehicle.

Lauren S. Russell, 23, Terre Haute, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 2002 Honda CR-V. She told Biggs that Finney pulled in front of her and she could not stop, hitting the rear driver’s side of his vehicle.

Both vehicles were disabled and towed.

Russell sustained a cut lip and rash marks on her arms from airbag deployment but declined medical attention.

Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000. Biggs was assisted by Deputy Robert Soilleux.

• At 6:51 a.m. on Saturday, Elizabeth M. Adams, 32, Reelsville, was northbound on Poland-Manhattan Road in the area of County Road 400 West in a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox.

She told Deputy Biggs that she had slowed to allow a deer to cross the road. While she was stopped, a second deer ran into the driver’s side of her vehicle.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500. Biggs was assisted by Deputy Soilleux.

• At 3:16 p.m. on Friday, Morgan D. Conder, 26, Danville, was southbound on U.S. 231 near County Road 1300 South in a 2002 Saturn LS. She told Reserve Deputy Rick Lambert she was slowing for a school bus.

Joseph C. Martin, 18, Spencer, was following Conder in a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Martin said he applied his brakes but could not stop in time to prevent the accident.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000. Lambert was assisted by Cloverdale Town Marshal Steve Hibler.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to four dispatches and one medical run.

• At 10:46 p.m. on Sunday, GFD received a good-intent call from a concerned citizen at 1216 Bloomington St. The resident had reason to believe the building’s furnace had caught fire. Upon arrival, GFD observed that there had either never been a fire or it had already burned itself out, most likely the aforementioned as no evidence was visible. GFD subsequently checked the furnace and made sure it was fully operational before returning to station.

• At 1:18 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 106 S. Spring St.

• At 1:34 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 412 S. Jackson St.
