Maxine R. Haskett

Maxine R. Haskett, 95, Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 in Indianapolis.

Maxine was born Oct. 1, 1921 in Terre Haute to Bert E. and Grace Roberts. She was a 1939 graduate of Greencastle High School and went to work immediately for General Telephone Company, where she would remain for more than 30 years prior to her retirement.

Maxine was a member of the First Christian Church, the Christian Women’s Fellowship, the Hospital Guild and belonged to Kappa Delta Phi Sorority for more than 50 years.

In addition to her memberships she served on the board of directors of Putnam County Comprehensive Services from its creation until the time of her passing.

Survivors include her son, Barry Steven Haskett; sister Vera Chapman; nephew James Roberts; nieces Sharon Collinson, Linda Brookhart, Sandy Davis and Sue Basey; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Haskett.

Funeral Services will take place at noon, Saturday, March 4 in Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, where the family will receive friends two hours prior to the time of the service.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Forest Hill Cemetery.
