County Jail

Seven people were recently booked into the Putnam County Jail.

Friday

• At 11:56 a.m., Brian Anthony Bartley, 37, of Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a court order.

• At 1:47 p.m., Samuel Matthew Cole, 44, of Cloverdale, was booked into the jail on a local criminal warrant.

Saturday

• At 3:54 a.m., Kathy Ann Kiger, 59, of Bainbridge, was lodged at the jail on a local criminal warrant.

• At 10:39 a.m., Dereck Allen Burchett, 39, of Greencastle, was booked into the jail on charges of possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a syringe and posession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

• At 8:40 p.m., Peter Jess Inman, 30, of Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on two local criminal warrants.

• At 10:28 p.m., Michael James Vance, 27, of Greencastle, was booked into the jail on a local criminal warrant.

Sunday

• At 10:21 a.m., Timothy Allen Coffee, 33, of Fillmore, was lodged at the jail on a warrant for theft.

Sheriff’s Department

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department recently responded to a pair of recent property damage accidents.

• On Sunday at 6:06 p.m., Nicolas R. Duncan, 32, of Greencastle, was headed south on County Road 50 W. when he swerved to miss a small dog and his 2007 Honda Civic left the road and damaged a barbed wire fence belonging to Luella Jackson, of Greencastle.

There were no injuries. Jerry’s Wrecker Service recovered the vehicle. Deputy Robert Soilleux, assisted by Deputy Jacob Harrington, estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 8:11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, two vehicles collided when one went left of center in heavy fog.

Shawn M. Barrett, 17, Bainbridge, was eastbound on County Road 500 North in a 1999 Dodge Stratus. Brian A. Williams, 44, Coatesville, was westbound in a 2005 Dodge Ram.

Both drivers told Special Deputy Josh Boller that Barrett was left of center, causing the head-on collision.

Barrett was treated at the scene for minor facial bleeding.

Both vehicles were towed. Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.
