Banner Graphic/ERIC BERNSEE The annual Putnam County Student Art Show Saturday attracted a record number of 376 visitors for an event at the Putnam County Museum, 1105 N. Jackson St., Greencastle, as 156 pieces of student artwork went on display. South Putnam High School students Rachel Jones (in dress) and Sarah Jones ponder the 3D creations of artists in grades 9-12, while attracting some of the biggest crowds at the event was “Connected,” a collaborative effort of 15 North Putnam pupils. Each student contributed a self-portrait created with one continuous contour line made of wire twisted and curved by using pliers. Each self-portrait was then connected to the others to create the image of a crowd. Students creating the piece were Ian Lawson, Caeley Hayes, Tyler Englert, Rainey Birge, Collin Hines, Nathan Sanford, Madison Trotter, Nathan Ham, Anita Spencer, Hannah Sims, Olivia Haste, Jaden Nunez, Morgan Hamilton, Dylan Kenworthy and Abigail Simmerman. The artwork will be displayed at the museum through April 21, during which time votes will be accepted for the People’s Choice Award for favorite artwork.
