Betty Jean Williams, 79, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017,

She was born July 6, 1937 in Ladoga, the daughter of Harley B. and Lorna (Barker) Servies. Betty was a 1955 graduate of New Market High School.

Betty was a homemaker and had worked several years with PR Mallorys and Taylor Graphics. She was a member of the Roachdale Christian Church, and the Ladies Aid and Primetimers Group at the church, Red Hat Society, the Better Homes and Gardens Homemakers Extension Club and Bridge Club. She loved to cook, bake, do flower arranging, and paint oil paintings.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl K. (Mark) Jurgens, son Jeffrey L. (Diana) Williams, sisters Nancy (Larry) Price and Dorothy (Jerry) Vaughn, brother Dewey (Pat) Servies, grandchildren Seth (Jacqui) Williams and Hannah Williams and sister-in-law Betty Sue (Gerry) Carpenter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred L. “Bill” Williams, her parents and brother Marvin Servies.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Brick Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15 at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
