Courtesy photo Greencastle High School National Honor Society members, students and staff present a check to Jennifer Nanny of the American Heart Association following their recent fundraiser for the Heart Association’s Healthy Heart, Go Red program. The GCSC fundraiser helped raise $1,624 for the American Heart Association. Making the presentation are (from left) Lindsey Bridgewater, Maggie Walters, Jed Fajt, Rhonda Kessler, Katie Kessler, Nathan Gobert, AHA representative Nanny, Polly Shuee, Brenda Meyer and Jacob Crawley. February is known as Heart Health month and to raise awareness, GHS hosted a blood drive in early February with help from the NHS, where more than 40 units of blood were donated. To raise awareness for heart health, T-shirts were sold to corporation staff and students and were worn on National Wear Red Day Feb. 3. The shirts incorporated this year’s American Heart Association slogan: “One life, One heart, No excuses!”
