Alice J. Buchanan

Alice J. Buchanan, 85, of Plainfield, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Indianapolis on Nov. 28, 1931 to the late Joe and Jessie Mae (Selmier) Hadley.

Alice was married for 55 years to Joseph M. Buchanan. She was a loving mother and homemaker.

Alice was a dedicated member of the Plainfield Untied Methodist Church. She was involved with the Hendricks County Humane Society and the Jericho Society.

Alice was an avid volunteer in saving animals and helping them get adopted. She belonged to the Cherry Grove Community Circle.

Survivors include her sons, Brad and (Lisa) Buchanan and Jeff and (Sharie) Buchanan; grandchildren, Kristina, Bradley Jr., Claire and Kieran Buchanan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Buchanan, and brother Jack Hadley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Friday, March 24, from 4-8 pm. Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery.
