Morris Leon Taylor

Morris Leon Taylor, 82, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017.

Born March 15, 1935 in Somerset, Ky., he was the son of Lester C. and D. Marie (Simpson) Taylor.

Morris served 26 years in the Army, Army Guard and Air National Guard, retiring in 1994.

He had also worked at Greencastle Manufacturing for 20 years, retiring in 1991.

He is survived by his children, Nora I. (David) Blevins, Clifford L. (Jean) Taylor, Beverly A. (Edward) Neumann, Matthew L. (Darla) Taylor and Michael L. (Sabrina) Taylor: brothers Arlis (Patty) Taylor, Norman (Pearl) Taylor, Evan Wayne (Mary) Taylor, Steve (Sheree) Taylor and Jerry Ray Taylor; sisters Arlene Mattox, Linda Faye Auterson and Shirley Juanita Ward; sister-in-law Ruth Taylor; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jeremy and brother, Carl Taylor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment with military honors will follow at the Clinton Falls Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, March 27 at the funeral home.
