Braxton Allan Medearis, two-year-old son of Michael and Brailyn (Whitson) Medearis went to heaven Thursday, March 23, 2017 following an unexplained illness.

Braxton was born Feb. 24, 2015. His mommy and daddy are Brailyn (Whitson) and Michael Medearis.

He absolutely loved watching sports. He especially enjoyed watching his daddy play basketball. He also loved eating Reese's Cups and gazing at the moon. Braxton was well known for his infectious laugh and smile. He couldn't go anywhere without someone making a comment about his perfect curly hair.

Braxton was looking forward to watching March Madness basketball and was very excited about being a big brother in August to Griffin Scott Medearis.

Braxton is survived by his "Momma" and "Dada," Brailyn and Michael Medearis; maternal grandma "Gigi" Laura Williams of Brazil; maternal grandpa "Pops" Scott Whitson and wife "G-ma" Lori of Gardner, Kan.; paternal grandparents Mark Medearis and wife Donna and "Grams" Gail Kashon of Brazil; maternal great-grandparents "Pawpaw" Glen Williams and "Nana" Teresa Williams of Seelyville, Earl and Nancy Whitson of Johnston City, Ill., and Judy and Bud Hampton of Energy, Ill.; uncles Ethan Whitson ("Tay" Taylor Hess) of Brazil, Scotty (Joscelyn) Whitson of Knoxville, Tenn., Uncle Chris Shaffer of Raytown, Mo.; Aunts Heather (David) Crowder of Gardner, Kan., and Melissa Medearis of Terre Haute; cousins Kenadi and Gracen Crowder of Gardner, Kan.; his best friends, Wren and River Trusler, as well as many aunts, uncles and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his uncle Nate Williams and great-grandmas "Grams" Ree Poggoemeller and Beverly Smith.

Visitation will be at First Christian Church 1875 U.S. 40, Brazil, IN 47834 on Tuesday, March 28 from 3-8 p.m.

Services will be at the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Tom Hess officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
