Sue Ellen (Wolf) Crafton, 62, passed away in her home near Raleigh, N.C., the afternoon of Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

The daughter of a farmer and an elementary teacher, she grew up near Patricksburg in Owen County.

During high school in Clay City she began dating the man who would later become her husband, Chris Crafton. Together, they would have two children, Kit and Kevin.

Sue was a prominent figure while working for the Soil and Water Conservation District of Putnam County, where she was named 2016 Conservationist of the Year, and 2017 Putnam County Agriculture Hall of Fame "Friend of the Farmer."

She was also a founding member of the Indiana Master Naturalist program.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorene and Robert Wolf, and her brother, Thomas Wolf.

She has two grandchildren, Noah and Lily, and one daughter-in-law, Adrielle, who reside near Raleigh, N.C.

Services will be conducted at French Funeral Home in Brazil. Viewing will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a graveside memorial at St. Peter's Cemetery in Clay City.
