Betty J. (Jones) Owens

Betty J. (Jones) Owens, 73, Reelsville, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the comfort of her own home.

She was born on Feb. 5, 1944 in Putnam County to Donald Jones Sr. and Ella (Murphy) Jones.

She worked at Asbury Towers and DePauw University as a cook and at Sunset Manor as a nurse’s aide.

Betty enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, William Owens Sr.; children Sherry Hanley, Larry Owens, Jerry Owens, Carol Corder (husband Roger), Lynn Baker (husband Dean) and William Owens Jr. (wife Sheila); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather for a celebration of life service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home in Greencastle.
