South Putnam alumni banquet set

The memory of late educator James M. Hammond will be honored at this year’s sixth annual South Putnam Alumni Banquet slated Saturday, April 22nd at 6 p.m. in the South Putnam High School cafeteria.

Hammond was the first principal for the South Putnam High School and later became superintendent. He will join a distinguished list of retired teachers and administrators on South Putnam Alumni Hall of Fame voted on by alumni.

Invitations have gone out for this year’s banquet and are due in by April 1.

Other highlights of this year’s banquet include recognition of the classes of 1976, 1977, 1991 and 1992, the Alumni Hall of Fame presentation along with recognizing this year’s scholarship and teacher grant recipients.

Mark Wildman will serve as master of ceremonies.

Alumni attendance and support of the group’s financial endeavors assist South Putnam educators and students.
