State Road 240 project set to begin Monday

A resurfacing and thin bridge deck overlay project on State Road 240 east of Greencastle is scheduled to begin on or after Monday, April 3, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced.

The project will resurface State Road 240 from the east side of Greencastle to State Road 75 and overlay the decks on three bridges -- those over Little Deer Creek, Buis Creek and McHaffie Branch.

The contractor will be closing one lane of the roadway in the area where the crew will be working. Workers will be flagging motorists around the construction.

Milestone Contractors L.P. was awarded the INDOT project for $2.3 million.

Work is scheduled for completion on or before Oct. 20.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
