County Jail

Two people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 10:48 p.m. Larry Conley Price, 34, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was also wanted on an out-of-county warrant and for parole violation.

• At 2:49 p.m. Lora Ella Cline, 34, Bainbridge, was taken into custody on a Montgomery County warrant.

City Police

One property-damage accident was reported recently by Greencastle City Police officers.

The 7:43 p.m. mishap occurred Wednesday on East Washington Street near the stoplight at Wood Street.

Laura Couch, 40, Greencastle, told Officer Alec Pettit her attention was temporarily diverted and she did not see the vehicle in front of her had stopped. Consequently, her 2012 Toyota Camry struck the rear of a 1993 Dodge driven by Jason Brown, 36, Greencastle.

Brown was also eastbound and had stopped as the stoplight turned red, Pettit reported.

Total damage in the accident was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

Five recent citations were issued by city officers.

• At 6:55 a.m. Friday, Wilmary Whitaker, 39, Cloverdale, received a pair of citations from Officer Nick Eastham.

Stopped on Bloomington Street near South Street, Whitaker was ticketed for speeding, 52 mph in a 30-mph zone. She was also cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

• At 11 p.m. Wednesday, Ethan Perdue, 23, Greencastle, was cited by Reserve Officer Kenneth Shepherd.

Stopped at Shadowlawn and College avenues, Perdue was ticketed for driving with a suspended license.

• At 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Joshua Wright, 27, Belle Union, was ticketed by Reserve Officer Shepherd.

Stopped at Avenue E and Fifth Street, Wright was cited for driving with a suspended license.

• At 3 p.m. Wednesday, Austin Sears, 25, Greencastle, was ticketed for speeding by Reserve Officer Shepherd.

Sears was cited for 42 mph in a 20-mph zone on East Washington Street.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to two dispatches and one medical run.

• At 1:54 a.m. on Friday, GFD responded to reports of electrical arcing at 1152 Indianapolis Rd. (Taco Bell). A piece of cooking equipment inside the restaurant was displaying electrical arcing and had been shut off before GFD’s arrival. GFD returned to station at 2:07 a.m.

• At 7:53 a.m. on Friday, GFD performed an odor investigation at 36 Sunset Dr. after receiving reports of a gas-like smell inside the residence. GFD monitored the air and traced a very small gas leak back to the furnace of the residence. GFD secured the furnace by shutting it down. GFD advised the residents on what to do next before returning to station at 8:10 a.m.
