County Jail

Ten people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 10:42 p.m. Nicholas Lee Boswell, 25, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a pair of warrants.

• At 3:47 p.m. Kayla Renee Spiker, 23, Reelsville, was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and on a local warrant.

• At 1:34 p.m. Timothy Jay Parrish, 28, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail on a theft warrant.

• At 1:15 p.m. Robert Nelson Diggs, 28, Greencastle, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

• At 10:50 a.m. Nicholas Andrew Tribbett, 25, Crawfordsville, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 9:23 a.m. Mark Eugene Diggs, 46, no city listed, was charged with possession of paraphernalia.

Tuesday

• At 7:56 p.m. Hope McKinzie Ramey, 21, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of a property-damage accident and residential entry.

• At 3:58 p.m. Caitlin Marie Abdon, 32, Bainbridge, was taken into custody on a Hendricks County warrant.

• At 3:24 p.m. Holly Michelle Keyt, 38, Madison, was arrested on a court order.

• At 2:21 p.m. Jacob Edward Montgomery, 21, Fillmore, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to five dispatches and one lift assist.

• At 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 110 E. Larabee St. on the campus of DePauw University. GFD was unable to determine what caused the alarm to activate. GFD reset the alarm and subsequently returned to station at 3:47 p.m.

• At 8:42 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to another fire alarm on the campus of DePauw University, this time at 208 E. Olive St. The alarm was determined to have been set off unnecessarily by excessive amounts of cologne. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 8:59 p.m.

• At 12:52 a.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to reports of a “hot smell” at McClure’s Service Station. An overheated motor on display in the station was not working properly and produced a burning smell. GFD simply shut the power off to the device, stopping the burning smell in the process. GFD subsequently returned to station at 1:23 a.m.

• At 1:22 a.m. on Thursday, GFD detected detector-head issues at 151 Percy Julian Dr. GFD cleaned the detector head and returned to station at 1:40 a.m.

• At 3:03 p.m. on Thursday, GFD removed a tree from the roadway in the area of Albin Pond and Houck roads. GFD returned to station at 3:22 p.m.
