Local Easter Services

Fillmore churches

Fillmore Christian Church and Fillmore United Methodist Church will join together for three Holy Week worship services at Fillmore Christian Church this year.

A Maundy Thursday worship service will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 13. Holy communion will be served.

A Good Friday worship service will begin at 7 p.m. on March 14. The joint Unity Choir will be singing.

Easter sunrise service will begin at 7 a.m. March 16, followed by breakfast provided by Fillmore Christian Church.

Rev. Dr. Mike Faust will be preaching at the Maundy Thursday and Easter sunrise services. Rev. Dr. Bryan Palmer-Smith will be preaching at the Good Friday service.

The public is invited.

First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church, 404 Judson Dr., Greencastle, has announced “Journey to the Cross” activities and invites the community to any or all of these services.

Palm Sunday, April 9, 9:30 a.m. – The children will have a palm processional to begin the journey to the cross for Jesus.

Maundy Thursday Communion Service, April 13, 7 p.m. – Deacons will lead the church in a time of devotions and communion.

Good Friday, April 14, 6-8 p.m. – Travel to the different stations leading to the cross. Come and go as you wish.

Easter Sunrise Service, April 16, 8:15 a.m. – Dr. Hinton will lead the church in a celebration of the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Easter Sunrise Breakfast, 8:45 a.m. – Pitch-in breakfast in the Fellowship Hall following the Sunrise Service. Drinks and table service are provided.

Easter Worship Celebration, 9:30 a.m. – The Celebration Choir will present special music and Dr. Hinton will lead a joyful celebration because Christ arose!

Russellville Community Church

The Russellville Community Church will feature special services to celebrate Holy Week. Sunday morning will start at 9:30 with Sunday School and Pastor Alan Small will be delivering the Palm Sunday Service.

There will be a pitch-in meal at 5 p.m. followed by services at 6 p.m. Andrea Winn will be providing special music followed by Pastor Small presenting “Communion on the Cross.”

On Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Ashlie Ramsay will be providing special music and Guy Studebaker will bring the message. After the service, there will be refreshments in the fellowship hall.

Maundy Thursday will be a special presentation, Da Vinci’s Last Supper.”

Good Friday Service will feature “The Stations of the Cross.”

Saturday at 1 p.m. will be an Easter egg hunt for all ages, sponsored by the Russellville Community Church at the Russellville Community Center.

Easter Sunday will begin at 8 a.m. with a sunrise service followed by breakfast. Sunday School will be at 9:30 a.m. and Easter Worship at 10:30 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to attend any and all of our services.

New Life Baptist Church

New Life Baptist Church, 51 Ridgeway St., Greencastle, will present the Easter journey “The Cross Speaks Today” during Holy Week.

An observation of the Lord’s Supper will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 13 in celebration of Maundy Thursday.

A Good Friday service will follow at 7 p.m. on Friday.

On Easter Sunday, April 16, the celebration will begin at 8 a.m. with an early worship service. A continental breakfast will follow at 8:40 a.m.

Sunday school begins at 9 a.m., with Easter worship at 10:15.

Passion play at

Roachdale Baptist Church

Roachdale Baptist Church will host a “Behold the Lamb: A Live Passion Play” on Good Friday.

The play will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Gobin UMC

Gobin United Methodist Church, Greencastle, will conduct Easter morning services at 10:30 a.m.
