Spring field trip to northwest Putnam County to include talk by Malcolm Romine

Monday, April 10, 2017

The Putnam County Museum will continue exploration of the geological and geographical points of interest in Putnam County on Saturday, April 22.

This time, the group will head northwest, visiting Clinton Falls, Morton, Russellville, the former Blakesburg and a glance back at Fincastle.

Interested persons can pack a sack lunch and get on board to explore Putnam County's countryside and byways.

The event is open to the public; a $5 donation is appreciated.

A special "halfway" stop will be the Community Center in Russellville for a comfort break. While there, Malcolm Romine will share some history of this special area of the county, including Portland Mills.

Buses will leave the museum (1105 N. Jackson St., Greencastle) at 10 a.m. and should return around 1 p.m.

Persons may call the museum at 653-8419 to reserve a spot. Seating is limited, so it is suggested you call early.
