Donald Lee Cloncs, 85, of Roachdale, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Hendricks Regional Health.

He was born on April 15, 1931 in Roachdale to the late Clifton and Alma (Scheckles) Cloncs.

On July 7, 1992 he married Carole Whetstone in Roachdale. Mrs. Cloncs survives.

Don graduated from Roachdale High School, where he excelled as a basketball player. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy for four years.

He then joined the Local 22 iron workers out of Indianapolis. Over his career he also worked on the Alaskan pipeline. He then worked for General Motors for 30 years until retiring in 2010.

Upon retirement he purchased a brand-new Camero, which he enjoyed traveling in with his wife. He enjoyed working hard, riding his motorcycle, his cats and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Carole; children Donald L. Cloncs II of Cloverdale, Michael (Paula) Cloncs of Crawfordsville, Lynda Albright of Crawfordsville, Darren Haler of Roachdale and Stephanie Haler Mora (Matthew Mora) of Jeffersonville; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; brother Herbert W. Cloncs (Marcia) of Roachdale; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Louise Lents.

The family has chosen cremation due to Donald’s wishes. Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 3-8 p.m. Friday, April 14 at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the Putnam County Humane Society (he was an avid lover of his precious dogs Dash, Ari and Polly and all his kitty cats that sat on his lap and fought for prime position) and the Diabetes Foundation.
