Betty Imogene Cox, 80, passed away at the home of her daughter, Friday, April 14, 2017.

Betty was born in Tangier on Sept. 10, 1936, the daughter of Paul and Lucinda (Adams) McMahan.

She was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mrs. Cox was a homemaker, and had worked at the Old Trail Inn and IBM.

Betty loved gardening, but most importantly she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include four daughters, Cinda Lynn Davis, Greencastle, Kathy Ann (Ronald) Tucker of Danville, Pamela Kay (Dan) Rose of Independence, Wis., and Kimberly Diane (Tony) Barker of Pittsboro; a son, Dale Lee (Myra) Cox Jr., of Roachdale; two sisters, Sue Jordan, and Nancy Hensley; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 55 years, Dale Lee Cox.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Ronald Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery, west of Morton.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
