Thursday, April 20, 2017

On Tuesday, May 2, Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Jennifer McCormick will be in Greencastle to discuss her goals for the Indiana Department of Education.

She was newly elected last November and took office on Jan. 9. Her talk will take place in the Greencastle Middle School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m.

McCormick's career in education began in the classroom as a special education teacher. She then served as a middle school language arts teacher before becoming principal of Yorktown Elementary in 2004.

In 2007 she became assistant superintendent of Yorktown Community and in 2010 was elevated to superintendent.

This event is sponsored by the Greencastle League of Women Voters, the Greencastle Community School Corporation and the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce. It is open to the public and there will be time for questions following the talk.
