Carl Orvis Arbuckle

Carl Orvis Arbuckle, 93, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness.

Carl was born in Belleville on July 23, 1923, the son of Samuel Orion and Bessie Rosetta (Clark) Arbuckle.

He was a graduate of Amo High School.

Mr. Arbuckle served proudly as a corporal during World War II in the United States Air Force from 1943-46.

He was a member of Fillmore Methodist Church.

He was employed as a member of the Facilities Department at IBM until its Greencastle operations closed in 1987.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Marilyn Arbuckle; a daughter, Cindy (Larry) Simpson, Tampa, Fla.; a son, Chris (DeeDee) Arbuckle, Avon; a brother, Richard Davies, Summerville, S.C.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carolyn Nanette Smiley; and two brothers, Ferrin Arbuckle and Cecil Arbuckle.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 25 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Burial will follow in Coatesville Cemetery.
