Ronald Hammer Luther

Ronald Hammer Luther, 77, of Greencastle, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

He was born July 23, 1939 to Walter Eugene Luther and Oral Mercedes Luther.

Survivors include his sister, Lois Rhoden; nieces Lori Scott (Tim), Cindy Valentine (Donald), Diane Cahoon; nephews Steve Cahoon (Kathy) and 18 great-nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Cahoon and Donna Beaver, and nephews Terry Boyle and Dennis Cahoon.

He enjoyed NASCAR racing, coin collecting, golf and playing cards with his friends at the Moose Lodge. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Moose Lodge and served as a volunteer at the senior center.

Ron was employed in the trucking industry for many years and retired after 10 years as a correctional officer.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 28 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Buck Martin officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service.
