Tiger Cubs set volleyball camp

The Greencastle volleyball program will be hosting a camp on June 5-6 for girls entering grades 3-8 in the 2017-18 school year.

The camp will be run by high school coaches Maggie Walters and Denise Meyer.

The junior varsity and varsity volleyball players will also be assisting and coaching.

The camp will be held at Greencastle High School in the McAnally Center.

The price of the camp will be $60. Each camper will need to pay cash or check (make checks out to Greencastle Volleyball) prior to or on the first day of camp in order to participate.

The price includes volleyball skills instruction and a camp T-shirt. Campers that sign up the day of camp will not receive a T-shirt (orders will already be completed).

For lunch, the campers will be escorted to the high school for free lunch in the cafeteria. Campers may also bring their own lunches.

Campers will need to wear some sort of workout shorts, shirt, and tennis shoes. Knee pads and water bottles are highly recommended. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. on June 5.

June 5

8-8:30 a.m. — Check-in

8:30-10:30 a.m. — Skills instruction

10:30 a.m.-Noon — Break/lunch

Noon-2 p.m. — Game simulations/scrimmage

June 6

8:30-10:30 a.m. — Skills instruction

10:30 a.m.-Noon — Break/lunch

Noon-2 p.m. — Game simulations/scrimmage

North Putnam basketball hosting trivia night

The North Putnam boys’ basketball program will be hosting a Spring Trivia Night competition on May 20 at 7 p.m. in the middle school commons.

Each trivia team may consist of 6-8 people, and the entry fee is $100 per team.

Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams.

Question categories will be (but not limited to) sports, American history, politics, pop culture, music and movies/TV.

There will also be several raffles throughout the evening, including a 50/50 drawing, along with other great prizes.

Prizes include Indianapolis 500 Carb Day and race tickets, concert tickets and college football tickets.

Middle school track meet moved to Tuesday

The Putnam County middle school track meet, which was originally scheduled for May 4, has been moved to next Tuesday at North Putnam due to bad weather conditions.
