County Jail

Seven people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 6:30 p.m. Carlos Cesareol-Victorio, 28, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for driving without ever receiving a license.

• At 4:17 p.m. Zachariah Lee Lightfoot, 33, Greenwood, was taken into custody on an out-of-county warrant.

Tuesday

• At 11:08 p.m. Gerald Ray McGuire, 39, Cloverdale, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

• At 10:03 p.m. Thomas Christopher Stearley, 46, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a local warrant for driving with a suspended license.

• At 2:23 p.m. Bobbie Lee Ruble, 69, Bainbridge, was booked in on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 1:47 p.m. Mika Levi Hayes, 21, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a writ of body attachment.

Monday

• At 11:32 a.m. Emilee Gabrielle Cline, 27, Crawfordsville, was taken into custody on a local warrant for auto theft.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 2:44 p.m. Tuesday, Donald Dixie, 36, Greencastle, ws arrested by Capt. Chris Jones at Papa John’s on U.S. 231 South.

Dixie, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, was arrsted on a Wabash Valley Correctional facility warrant.

One summons was issued Tuesday by city officers.

• At 7:23 p.m., Marcilous Godsey, 70, Greencastle, was stopped on North Jackson Street by Officer Brad Hiatt.

Godsey was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to one recent property-damage accident.

• At 8:22 p.m. on Wednesday, Craig A. Jordan, 26, Greencastle, was eastbound on County Road 210 North entering a curve at County Road 275 East in a 2014 Ford when he lost traction and left the road.

Sgt. Kyle Gibbons reported that Jordan’s car went through a fence and into a field.

The car had to be retrieved from the field by a wrecker but then was driven from the scene.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to nine dispatches.

• At 9:35 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 208 E. Olive St. The alarm was determined to have been activated unnecessarily due to excessive cologne. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 9:48 a.m.

• At 4:18 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to reports of a motor-vehicle accident at the intersection of Jackson Street and Shadowlawn Avenue. The accident resulted in very little damage and no injuries. GFD assisted in the removal of any debris from the roadway before returning to station at 4:30 p.m.

• At 6:18 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 1306 S. Bloomington St. but was disregarded en route. GFD subsequently returned to station at 6:23 p.m.

• At 6:22 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to reports of power-line arcing at 622 Westlane Rd. Originally dispatched to the scene for a transformer fire, GFD found no fire upon arrival but instead found electrical arcing between power lines, prompting GFD to notify Duke Energy. GFD then returned to station at 6:39 p.m.

• At 6:53 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking on the first floor at 330 Greenwood Ave. GFD reset the alarm before returning to station at 7:13 p.m.

• At 10:49 a.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 413 Anderson St. The alarm was determined to have been activated unnecessarily due to water dripping into the phone system. GFD contacted DePauw maintenance crews before reseting the alarm and returning to station at 11:06 a.m.

• At 10:51 a.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 333 10th St. but was disregarded en route. GFD subsequently returned to station at 10:54 a.m.

• At 2:01 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 407 S. Jackson St. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 2:09 p.m.

• At 2:59 p.m. GFD responded to a fire alarm at 2200 E. State Road 240 (Chiyoda U.S.A.). A pull-station alarm had been unnecessarily activated when a forklift accidentally ran into the alarm. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 3:29 p.m.
