I-70 wreck sends four inmates to hospital

CLOVERDALE — Four inmates suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning when the transport van in which they were riding crashed in Interstate 70.

The offenders were being riding in a van from the private transportation firm Geo Transport.

The four inmates were taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital, which has a security unit. All four were believed to have only superficial injuries.

Indiana State Police investigated the incident, with assistance from Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Cloverdale Police Department and Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department.
