County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Monday.

• At 11:57 p.m. Alyson Rose Bettis, 25, Coatesville, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 5:54 p.m. James Curtis Davis, 39, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a court order.

• At 11:35 a.m. Cory Edward Smith, 31, Greencastle, was booked in for probation violation.

• At 12:51 a.m. Kyle Jordan Wyatt, 29, Terre Haute, was housed at the jail for failure to appear.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to one recent property-damage crash.

• At 3:26 a.m. on Friday, Matthew E. Swager, 31, Greencastle, was southbound on U.S. 231 in a 1998 Acura Intrepid, stopped at the temporary traffic signal at Brick Chapel.

Swager told Deputy Robert Soileux he was bumped by the vehicle behind him.

Nicholas C. Dwigans, 25, Greencastle, was stopped behind Swager in a 2003 Dodge Ram.

Dwigans told Soileux he became distracted by a vehicle behind him that began to move left. At this point, Dwigans’ truck was also beginning to move forward and hit Swager’s car.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.
