4-H Shooting Stars event set June 10 at fairgrounds

The Putnam County 4-H Archery Club will stage its second annual Shooting for the Stars event on Saturday, June 10 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

The fundraiser helps provide equipment for the club as well as maintaining current gear and assisting in individual projects.

The evening will feature dinner provided by The Fluttering Duck, a silent auction, a live auction and an archery shoot of the club's top 15 4-H archers.

Fifteen community leaders, including school principals, police officers, military, government officials and more have been invited to be the stars for the night.

The celebrity stars are Danny Burdine, Jason Chew, Dustin Burris, Mark Evans, Kyle Lee, Kim Fidler, Jenny Hutcheson, Kristi Straziscar, Rick Woodall, Mike Mahoy, Bobby Hopper, Paul Jedele, Bucky Kramer, Kathy Peck and John Burgess.

The silent auction will include items from such places as Indianapolis Indians, Lonesome Elk Archery, Mason Jewelry, Crackers Comedy Club and more.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 6.

Tickets can be ordered in advance for $5. Tickets will be $7 at the door.
