Beta Theta Pi fraternity at DePauw University has been supporting the community for years with its Llama Drop fundraising efforts. In 2016, the fraternity gave $700 to Greencastle Middle School Music Boosters, to which they recently added a $500 donation for a two-year total of $1,200. Those present for the most recent donation included (front, from left) GMS students Hanna Hiatt and Iris Mackenzie; GMS Music Boosters president Paula O’Brien; Beta Theta Pi philanthropy chairman Tanner Walsh; GMS students Eli Hardwick, Lucy Butler and Libby Hayes; (back) Music Boosters vice president Laurie Hardwick; Beta adviser Adam Cohen; GMS Music Director; Kathryn Dory; Beta Treasurer Kurt Swieter; Beta communications vice president Zach Johns; GMS student Boyd Ensley; Beta incoming philanthropy chairman Jonah Jones Steven; Beta president Dan Rice; and Beta vice president Mike Littau. The money raised for the GMS Music Boosters goes toward providing financial assistance to students with need, the purchase of music, and the repair and replacement of instruments.
