114 members of Class of 2017 graduate at North Putnam High School

Saturday, May 27, 2017
The celebration is on Saturday afternoon as members of the North Putnam High School Class of 2017 launch silly strings into the air and onto classmates as the conclusion of their graduation program. Among those celebrating are (from left) Alexis Jo Bayne, Allison Shea Bayless, Shawn Matthew Barnett and Audrey Pearl Barger.

Alphabetically the last of 114 members of the Class of 2017 to receive his diploma Saturday afternoon at North Putnam High School, Dakota James Zoellner laughingly reacts as North Putnam Supt. Dan Noel teases him by pulling the diploma back and holding it out of reach for just a second.
His neck ringed with Purdue Boilermaker playing cards from graduating North Putnam High School seniors, Principal Jason Chew, an Indiana University graduate, is a good sport Saturday as a graduation day tradition of giving the principal a silly or symbolic gift continues at NPHS. Students also substituted the IU front plate on Chew's vehicle with a Purdue plate but by the end of the ceremony, Chew had his IU plate back.
