Michelle Harper Folck

Thursday, June 1, 2017

One week after graduating North Putnam High School, Michelle Harper married her true love, Donald K. Folck, on May 28, 1972.

Michelle, 63, was reunited with her husband of 45 years when she passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

She was born April 29, 1954, the third child of the late Berthel and Marian Harper.

The newlyweds moved to Maryland, where Don was stationed in the Air Force. They had their first daughter, Monica, and realized they were ready to move back to Bainbridge to be closer to their families. Soon after, Valarie was born.

Michelle's favorite job was raising her children. She also worked for Mac's as an alteration specialist, was employed at Bainbridge Elementary and later by Walmart Distribution.

She was an avid supporter of any activities her girls chose to do and particularly enjoyed being a band and color guard mom.

When Don was diagnosed with brain cancer, she fearlessly stepped up to be his primary care giver. He affectionately nicknamed her "The General."

Shellie loved to travel and was always ready for a trip to the casino or horse track. She loved Peyton Manning and giving referees, coaches and players alike her advice on game day.

Her passion was fierce, and she was one of the most determined and strong-willed women to walk this earth. Though times it was brutal, Shellie never left you questioning where you stood with her. She knew how to be a great friend and this world is surely not the same without her.

Surviving family include her daughters, Monica (Todd) Bray, and Valarie Folck; granddaughters Kayla and Maddie Bray; brother Bill (Margaret) Harper; sisters Dawn and Ann Campbell; mother-in-law Hattie Folck; sister-in-law Linda (Terry) Cox; brothers-in-law Ronnie, Jim and Dennis (Starlet); several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, and long-time friends Gary and Linda Wright and Dale and Loretta Sillery.

In honoring her request, there will not be a funeral. Private graveside services are pending.
