County Jail

Two people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 4:44 p.m. Chelsay Rachelle Dickerson, 24, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 11:56 a.m. Patricia Joanne Shaw, 31, Greencastle, was taken into custody for probation violation.

City Police

Three recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 5:05 a.m. Friday, Charles Turpin, 22, Greencastle, was arrested for an alleged shoplifting incident at the Greencastle Walmart store.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail by GPD Officer Zach Rhine, Turpin is being held on a theft charge for allegedly taking $180.17 worth of merchandise.

Turpin allegedly concealed two tablet computers, a USB wall charger, medical tape and Neosporin within his clothing, police reported.

• At 7:35 p.m. Thursday, city officers went to the College Inn on Bloomington Street to serve an arrest warrant and ended up making a pair of arrests.

Austin Holder, 21, Indianapolis, was arrested by Officer Zach Rhine and lodged in the jail on a Putnam County warrant issued for the original charges of burglary and theft.

While at the motel, officers also reportedly took notice of another subject, Daniel Taylor, 20, Coatesville, allegedly acting suspiciously.

• At 7:37 p.m., Officer Elsiana Crosby subsequently arrested Taylor on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.

Taylor was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.
