Charles Clark, 94, Plainfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, June 3, 2017.

He was born in Putnam County on Jan. 1, 1923 to the late Glen and Elizabeth (Hurst) Clark.

Charles graduated from Fillmore High School in 1941.

He served in the United States Navy as an engineer on a naval destroyer during World War II.

He was the owner of a livestock exchange company in Indianapolis for 44 years and retired in 1986.

Charles was a 50-year member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield where he previously served as a deacon and was treasurer for many years.

He was preceded in death by three of his brothers, Ivan, Burl Wayne "Bink" and Eugene Clark; and four sisters, Evalene Frank, Madge Smith, Lucille Albin and Geraldine Runion.

Survivors include his wife, Mandy; brother and sister-in-law Wendell and Vera Jean Clark; 18 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews; stepsons Mark (Belinda) Young and Michael (Julie) Young; and step-grandson, Justin Young.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 9 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Plainfield, 1012 Stafford Rd., Plainfield.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, is in charge of arrangements.
