Concerned parents’ tips lead to three arrests

CLOVERDALE — Local police are crediting proactive citizens with providing information that led to the arrest of three young adults on drug and related charges Wednesday night.

Acting together to serve two warrants at two Cloverdale locations, the Cloverdale Police Department, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police arrested 18-year-old Austin Greene, 20-year-old Ryan Dallman and 20-year-old Sandy Greene, all of Cloverdale.

Ryan Dallman

Cloverdale Town Marshal Steve Hibler said this was a case of citizens taking an active role in trying to stop crime in their community.

“I want to thank the citizens for coming forward with information,” Hibler said. “We encourage people to come forward and make us aware of problematic areas.”

Hibler said that one residence in particular had become a magnet for criminal activity since Dallman and Austin Greene began renting it in early April. In that time, CPD has investigated several criminal cases and other incidents linked to the home.

Austin Greene

Earlier this week, some community parents contacted police about underage kids staying overnight at the residence and returning home under the influence of drugs.

Additionally, a burglary investigation also led officers to the home.

Obtaining and serving two search warrants, officers from the three departments recovered stolen good as well as drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Sandy Greene

Austin Greene faces charges of receiving stolen property, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Dallman is charged with maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and reckless possession of paraphernalia.

Sandy Greene is charged with battery, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and visiting a common nuisance.

CPD Sgt. Charlie Hallam and Indiana State Troopers transported the trio to the Putnam County Jail for book-in.

The investigation is ongoing and all information will be turned over to the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office.
