County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 10:10 p.m. David Ray Thompson, 57, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 8:43 p.m. Dylan J. Monnett, 32, Brazil, was arrested for invasion of privacy.

• At 11:46 a.m. William Hayden Leonard, 22, Greencastle, was booked in for probation violation and possession of spice.

• At 12:01 a.m. Michael William Pecoraro, 31, Alton, Ill., was housed at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

City Police

A 35-year-old Cloverdale man was arrested Thursday afternoon for an alleged theft at the Greencastle Walmart store.

• At 4:45 p.m. Lucas Joe Collins was arrested by Officer Nick Eastham at Calbert Way and the entrance to the Area 30 Career Center.

Collins, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, is facing charges of theft and probation violation.

Officer Eastham reported that Collins initially stole a bottle of Evans Williams whiskey and then walked back to the Toy Department and got a bicycle, walking it to the front of the store. There he reportedly handed a Walmart employee a cash register receipt from a previous day before he jumped on the bike and took off.

In fleeing on the bicycle, Collins reportedly blew a tire and ditched the bike before being apprehended on Calbert Way.

Collins registered .21 percent blood-alcohol content under portable breathalyzer testing.

The whiskey and bicycle were valued at a total of $93.50.

Seven recent traffic citations were issued by GPD Capt. Chris Jones.

• At 4:57 p.m. Wednesday, Joaquin Freire, 27, Greencastle, was ticketed for a seatbelt violation after being stopped in the 1000 block of Shadowlawn Avenue.

• At 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, Marcus Kelly, 26, Greencastle, was ticketed for speeding in a school zone in the 1000 block of Shadowlawn Avenue.

Kelly was cited by Capt. Jones for 32 mph in a 20-mph zone.

• At 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Terry Jones, 26, Greencastle, was cited for a seatbelt violation.

Jones was stopped at Percy Julian Drive and East Washington Street.

• At 1:04 p.m. Wednesday, Robert Jones, 38, Greencastle, was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

Jones was ticketed at Bloomington and Maple streets.

• At 10:01 a.m. Sunday, Autumn McCord, 31, Fillmore, was ticketed for having no valid driver’s license.

McCord was stopped by Capt. Jones at Percy Julian Drive and Avenue D.

• At 9:41 a.m. Sunday, Brittany Van Cleave, 31, Crawfordsville, was ticketed for speeding.

Van Cleave was cited for 45 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street.

• At 8:56 a.m. Sunday, Savannah Gaddis, 22, Cloverdale, was cited for speeding.

Gaddis was ticketed on Bloomington Street for 45 mph in a 30-mph zone.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to one dispatch.

• At 11 a.m. on Friday, GFD responded but was disregarded while en route to a fire alarm at 910 E. Washington St. GFD subsequently returned to station at 11:03 a.m.
