Lester H. Cruse

Lester H. Cruse, 79, of Cloverdale, went home to the Lord June 21, 2017.

He was born Jan. 8, 1938 to Lester and Wilma (Robbins) Cruse.

Lester married the late Jacklin Schafer Aug 8, 1963.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Harriet Schulz.

He is survived by his daughter, Leslee Smith and her husband Daniel; stepson Michael Sinclair; daughter Sherri McElyea and her husband Daniel;

other children Rhonda, Tony, Deborah, Christine and Robin Cruse, and 14 grandchildren, sister-in-law Ruth Warner, several nieces and nephews.

Les worked 34 years at Eli Lilly, retiring in 1993.

An avid motorcyclist, he was a lifetime member of ABATE, the Harley Owners Group (HOG), the American Motorcycle Association and Midwest Motorcycle Club.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Greencastle.

Memorial services for Lester will held at 3 p.m. Sunday June 25 at Whitaker Funeral home, Cloverdale.

Family and friends may call from 1 p.m. until the service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wish Fund for Intrepid Hospice or to IU Health West Cancer Center through Hendricks County Community Foundation.
