As part of Roachdale’s efforts to spruce up its Community Park, Utility Worker Mike Mahoy (front, left) opens a bag of fresh dirt Tuesday ahead of planting flowers adjacent to Roachdale Elementary School. The park was also occupied that day by a number of other dedicated workers committed to the park’s revitalization. Assisting Mahoy were (foreground, from right) utility workers Ronnie Campbell and Mike Arnold, Putnam County Jail Road Work Deputy Rocky Paris and three jail trustees. Recent improvements at the park include the removal of unsafe playground equipment, repainting of current playground equipment and planting flowers around the flag pole which now has a newly-constructed base made of railroad ties.
