Rivers, Legend Puncher set for ParkFest

Friday, June 23, 2017

The Greencastle Civic League will welcome Dominick Rivers and Legend Puncher to Robe-Ann Park for the ParkFest concert at 6:30 p.m. on June 27.

With summer officially here, the seasonal celebration of music will continue, along with food available for purchase from Anthony’s New York Style Pizzeria.

Hailing from Crawfordsville, Dominick Rivers enjoys a wide range of musical styles — from pop to folk to blues. His inspirations include Bob Dylan, Syd Barrett and The Beatles.

Rivers received the Mike Lane Horizon Award for Excellence in Poetry from the Songwriters Association of Mid-North Indiana for his song “The Widow’s Son.”

Legend Puncher proudly describes itself as “a band of four washed-up, post-punk adults who all sold out for jobs, 401ks and a family.”

The early alternative and indie-infused cover band consists of Rich Martoglio on guitar and vocals, Daniel Gurnon on guitar and vocals, Jonathan Nichols-Pethik on drums and Matt Cummings on bass.

Inspired by the late ‘80s Seattle scene, Legend Puncher jams out songs by The Replacements, The Clash, Wilco and Bob Mould.

With the Fourth of July on a Tuesday, ParkFest will take a one-week break. Afterward, upcoming ParkFest shows include Chris Wuster and Ron Dye on July 11 and War Radio, Mike Balka and Steve Michael on July 18.
