PUTNAMVILLE – Brent Beauchamp, Josh Boller and Steve Peeden made their returns to victory lane at Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday evening. However, for Josh Litton, he was able to pick up his first career victory at the Putnamville oval after claiming the bomber A-main event.

In the sprint car division, Beauchamp and Jarett Andretti put on a thrilling display in the front of the 20-car field. Andretti started alongside Tyler Hewitt on the front row with Beauchamp and Garrett Abrams in row two. When the field took the green flag it was Andretti and Beauchamp up front by lap five.

By lap seven the leaders were caught in lapped traffic and the battle was on for both Andretti and Beauchamp. The pair were side-by-side working through heavy traffic by the 10th circuit. Andretti split a pair of lapped cars with Beauchamp in tow with Hewitt several car lengths back in third. Kody Swanson and Kyle Simon rounded out the top-five.

With the leaders battling through traffic, Andretti had worked through traffic under pressure masterfully for five laps before jumping the cushion momentarily. Beauchamp pounded on the opportunity and ripped through to take the lead. Several laps later it was Beauchamp that briefly bobbled, making contact with a lapped car, but the Indianapolis driver kept the top spot.

The first 15 laps ticked by without a caution before a brief break for the slowed car of Adam Wilfong in turn three. Once the field re-took the green, Beauchamp worked the top side to perfection to pick up the win over Andretti, Hewitt, Robert Ballou and Swanson.

Tyler Loughmiller, Brent Hudson and Jeff Deckard were heat race winners in the UMP Modified division with RJ Pruitt taking the B-main. Boller and James Walters started on the front row and would fight for the top spot over the opening six laps.

Boller and Walters were door-to-door through five laps before Boller began to edge out front and snagged the lead on the sixth lap. Deckard was running third ahead of Kenny Carmichael Sr. and Derek Groomer.

By the eighth lap Boller had built nearly a straightaway lead over Deckard as Groomer and Walters fought for third ahead of Carmichael as a caution slowed the field. On the restart, Boller kept the top spot and began to string out his advantage as Groomer snagged the second spot by lap 13.

A lap 15 caution re-set the field and set up a five-lap dash for the cash. Boller ran the high side, ripping the cushion as Groomer found the bottom line to his liking. With three laps remaining, Groomer got a strong run on the bottom coming off of turn three and pulled even with Boller coming out of turn four. However, Boller wisely slammed the door, taking away Groomer’s line for the final two laps to pick up his second UMP Modified win of the season. Groomer, Deckard, Carmichael Sr. and John Grenier Jr. wrapped the top-five.

Kenny Carmichael Jr. and Larry Raines captured heat race wins in the UMP Super Stock class and the pair started on the front row of the feature.

Raines jumped to the lead a couple of laps into the feature and held that spot as Peeden closed the gap after starting fourth. Chris Hillman was close in contention followed by Wes McClara and Matt Jordan.

Raines held the top spot until lap eight when Peeden rocketed around the top side to take the lead heading into turn three. Once he took the point, Peeden would not look back, pulling away to a sizable win. McClara took second ahead of Raines, Hillman and Carmichael Jr.

In the bomber class, Litton, Gary Hayden and Cody Wright were heat race winners and would immediately contend for the feature win.

Litton parlayed a pole spot to a lead immediately on the green flag lap. However, Wright and Hayden were wheel-to-wheel, locked in a challenge for second-place as Jordan Almanza stalked the lead as well. David Wallen and David Bumgardner held down fifth and sixth spots.

Wright’s chase for a win ended on the fifth lap after he pulled off the track with mechanical problems during a caution.

By lap 10, Litton was working lapped traffic as Hayden and Almanza were chasing second place. A final re-start gave the field a chance to challenge Litton one last time, but the Paragon driver hit his marks over the last few laps to score the victory. Hayden came home second ahead of Almanza, Bumgardner and CJ Bryan.
