County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 9:16 p.m. Christopher Dean Perales, 47, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 3:39 p.m. Cletis Anthony Warren, 45, Cloverdale, was taken into custody on a pair of out-of-county warrants.

• At 3:21 p.m. Torie Lynn Hayes, 40, Greencastle, was booked in for theft and illegal possession of a syringe.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to six dispatches.

• At 5:54 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 413 S. Locust St. GFD used a fan to ventilate the first floor of the building before cleaning the alarm system’s detector heads. GFD subsequently returned to station at 6:19 p.m.

• At 8:08 p.m. on Friday, GFD responded to reports of a motor-vehicle accident with no injuries at 1501 Indianapolis Rd. (Enterprise Rent-A-Car). The two-vehicle accident also resulted in minor property damage. GFD assisted with the removal of debris and fluids from the roadway before returning to station at 8:29 p.m.

• At 10:31 a.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 25 Putnam Plz. (Tractor Supply Co.). The alarm was determined to have been activated unnecessarily due to a system malfunction. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 10:54 a.m.

• At 11:12 a.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to reports of a fuel leak on Washington Street near the intersection with Locust Street. A parked car was leaking gasoline from its fuel tank into the street, prompting cleanup by GFD. Crews then returned to station at 11:42 a.m.
