Celebrate 4 Schedule of Events

The Celebrate 4 committee has announced the schedule of events for annual Independence Day celebration at Robe-Ann Park on Tuesday, July 4.

Beginning in the cool of the morning and lasting until the final fireworks well after dusk, it will be a day full of activity in Greencastle.

The schedule includes:

8 a.m. -- 26th annual Mike Rokicki Memorial 5K Road Run. Registration at Shelter No. 5, beginning at 7 a.m. Pre-registration is $20 per person or $25 day of race.

8-8:30 a.m. -- Registration for Pickleball Tournament, $20 per person by Saturday or $25 day of event.

8-11 a.m. -- Pancakes for Bandshell and Playground, Shelter No. 1, $5 for all-you-can-eat.

9 a.m.-noon -- Pickleball Tournament.

9:15 a.m. -- 14th annual Youth Firecracker Fun Run, free.

10-11 a.m. -- Zumba with Lita Sandy, Shelter No. 1, free.

10-11 a.m. -- Pet Parade, Parks Department Office, free.

Noon-5 p.m. -- Open swim, contests and games for all ages, Aquatics Center, free.

Noon-10 p.m. -- Food court open.

1-2 p.m. -- Corn toss tournament registration and free open play.

2 p.m. -- Corn toss tournament, $20 per team; $10 individual.

2 p.m.-dusk -- Free entertainment at Shelter No. 1.

* Reading of the Declaration of Independence, Paul and James Champion, 2-2:15 p.m.

* All-American Karate, 3:30-4 p.m.

* School of Rock, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

* Shelley Robbins, 5:30-6 p.m.

* Halfway Up, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

* Phillip Steven and the Open Road, 8-9:30 p.m.

5:30 p.m.-dusk -- Big Bounce Fun House Rental inflatables, Shelter No. 5 area, tickets for $1 and $5

Dusk -- Annual 4th of July Fireworks Show by Sky Magic, with blanket pass donation for 2018 funding start.

Music will be provided by 94.3 FM WREB during the fireworks show.
