County Jail

Three people were recently booked into the Putnam County Jail.

Thursday

-- At 11:32 a.m., John Stogsdill III, 41, of Greenwood, was lodged at the jail for probation order violation.

-- At 7:44 p.m., Stephen Buffington, 47, of Reelsville, was booked into the jail for driving while suspended.

-- At 6:28 p.m., Justin Walsh, 31, of Ladoga, was lodged at the jail for operating while intoxicated.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 3:11 p.m. Thursday, Timothy Cheatham, 22, of Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Luke Brown at Madison and Poplar streets.

Lodged at the Putnam County Jail, Cheatham is facing a charge of criminal mischief, allegedly as a result of a reported tire-slashing incident at a Berry Street residence.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to one recent property-damage accident.

-- At 10:28 p.m. Wednesday, Patricia A. Hargis, 64, of Greencastle, was westbound on U.S. 36 near Bainbridge in a 2001 Lincoln when she hit a deer.

There were no injuries.

Deputy Robert Soilleux reported damage at $2,501-$5,000.
