Kathryn Jean Jackson, 94, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at her home near Morton.

Born Oct. 20, 1922 in Sullivan, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Aud "Auddie" Price and Lydia (Robbins) Price.

Jean grew up on her family's grain farm in Sullivan. She was the youngest of six children. She graduated from high school in Sullivan and went to business school to become a stenographer.

In 1941, she met Paul Eugene Jackson on a blind date in Carlisle, Ind. They were married 60 years at the time of Paul's death in 2003.

Jean's life work was homemaking. She was an avid gardener and loved arranging the flowers she grew.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Auddie and Lydia; her husband Paul; her son, John; and her siblings, Mel, Carl, Ruby, Opal and Helen.

Jean is survived by her sons, Bill (Nancy) Jackson of Marshall, Mo., and Jim Jackson of Russellville; daughter Ellen Jackson of Avon; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She also leaves behind lifelong friends, Hester Shultz, who introduced her to Paul, and Phyllis Ballentine. She also leaves behind her devoted caregiver of many years, Brenda Ivy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25 at Union Chapel Church, 5998 W. U.S. 36, with Pastor John O'Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receives visitors 9-11 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Union Chapel Cemetery.
