Kathleen Ann Vance, 93, Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017.

Kathleen, known to many as "Grandma Kay," was born Oct. 22, 1924 in Clay County to George L. And Nina (Reed) White.

In 1951, She married her husband Robert E. Vance, and they resided in the Chicago area, where they both worked for more than 40 years.

In 1988, they returned to Greencastle where they spent the remainder of their lives enjoying their family.

Kathleen will be remembered for the way she took pride in dressing every day, her cooking, her endless shopping trips, and the love she had for sharing her life stories of Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her beloved daughter, Nancy Lee Miller Paris; three sisters, Eileen Davis, Roseanne Lawrence and Isabelle Reddish; as well as her two brothers, Delbert and John White, and her grandson-in-law JD Mackey.

Surviving are her five grandchildren, Misha (Rick) Romandine, Jerry Joe (Lori) Miller, Lori (Chuck) Pingleton and Sue (William) Warren, all of Greencastle, and Diana Mackey of Brazil; 16 great-grandchildren, 32 great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren, Brielle Rose and Kingston Ferguson (children of Shelby Romandine) and Sophia Joan (child of Dylan Romandine).

Kathleen was a remarkable lady, and she will be missed by many.

There will be a private graveside service for Kathleen's family Friday, July 28 at 1 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
